Ever since the day we posted the request for the puppy shelter at our Kopri Center in Vashi donations have poured in and we have been able to complete the construction of the shelter in record time.
We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all those who have donated for the puppy shelter and also to those who continue to donate for our other requirements as well. We at IDA are touched and moved by the generosity shown by our supporters. This has further strengthened our resolve to continue with the work we are doing at IDA.
New Shelter
The new shelter (although it's not a permanent building) sports a tiled floor, a strong roof covering a much larger area and is supported by strong metal pillars. It is well lighted and has 3 fans for keeping the area cool. The entire area has been reinforced to prevent flooding and the drains have been cleared for quick drainage of water.
Old Shelter
For those who are not familiar with our puppy shelter appeal here's the story. The puppy shelter at our Kopri Center at Vashi was in a dilapidated condition; in fact it was a makeshift structure anyways. We were worried that it would not stand up in the monsoons and that the entire area would be flooded. We therefore put an appeal to our supporters for the construction of a new stronger bigger shelter. As they always do our supporters contributed in a big way and we got the job done.
More photos of the new shelter are given below.
