In Defense of Animals (IDA) India, an animal-welfare organization, made a public appearance at a woman achievers' felicitation ceremony on the occasion of International Women's Day, at Powai. The event was held by the Young Environmentalist Group in association with Rodas Hotel. With the help of Ms. Vivienne Choudhary, secretary of the Group and IDA India Management Committee member, the promotion stall was set up.
Awareness material was put up, handouts were given out to the guests and merchandise was offered for sale at the stall. The stall generated interest and resulted in the sale of many IDA India T-Shirts too. The stall was graced by many of the celebrities who were receiving or presenting the awards.
Incidentally, IDA India is actively run by women, with 8 of the 10 Management Committee members being women. There couldn't be a better day than International Womens' Day to highlight the IDA India endeavour!
IDA India plans to set up its promotional stall at many more events to make its presence felt. This new initiative is a part of IDA India's marketing efforts to give a face to the organization and its work, and to spread the much-needed awareness about animal issues.
