Animal Rescue Van Setup by Borivali/ Kandivli Volunteer Group

One of our most active volunteer groups in Borivli/ Kandivli under the leadership of Sourabh Edwanker have with their own intitiative and hard work setup a Rescue Van to support the groups activities. This vehicle will be run and managed by the group on behalf of IDA.

We at IDA salute this effort and look forward to many more great initiatives from this dynamic group.

In Sourabh's own words...

The following people need a special mention in getting the Car operational.

Atul Shah - has donated the Maruti 800 to IDA & the Borivali/ Kandivli volunteers. He is an ardent supporter of Animals & Humans affected by disasters. Atul has been active with Goonj during the Bihar floods & has visited affected areas. We need more of such philanthropists for animal welfare.

Jayesh Nathwani - For giving ideas in modifications & actual implementation of the car. Jayesh runs a business of Car Seat covers & his expertise helped where even professional car modifiers had given up. Jayesh looks after 5 strays & looks out for sick animals.

Rupa Shah & Her Mother- The mother daughter tean is one of the most active animal lovers who religiously do sterilisation activities every weekend. They used to use the autos but now can fall back on IDA's rescue vehicle.

Christina, Nishant, Sandeep - They have actively supported in generating support & doing various activities from vaccinations, paper work, repairs, visits to car garages.

The IDA team
Sudnya & Fizzah - for believing & pushing the effort to its successful start.
Ron & Sonali - for the wonderful branding to give a lively look to the car.

I anticipate a lot of issues, breakdowns, problems, time constraints, non availability of manpower. But seeing the support from IDA, fellow volunteers, I believe that the trickle has started & will grow into a mighty raging river of support & help.

May we work towards building a robust team which will support each other & work in tandem for animal welfare.

- Sourabh Edwankar
